5 Tips For Dealing With Stress During The Holidays

1. Keep a regular routine. During the holidays we can get really busy and it can feel overwhelming. It is good to stick to a routine to assist with some of the stress during the holidays. Stick to exercising, eating and sleeping at your usual time.


2. Realistic Expectations. Many of us have an “ideal” expectation of the holidays. Be realistic about your current relationships. If your family can’t make it; video chat or share pictures with each other. Nothing is perfect, so don’t stress if everything does not go as planned.


3. Do Something Fun. Take the time out this year and do something fun with your family. It is always good to spend time with others. Plan a game night, make cookies with your children or go ice skating.


4. Ask For Help. If planning, decorating, and shopping gets stressful ask for help. Make it into a fun activity to decorate the house or plan your Christmas event. If you have too much on your mind and you are overwhelmed ASK for help.


5. Be Grateful and Good To Yourself. It is the holiday season enjoy it! Pamper yourself, volunteer, cook yourself a meal, read a book or spend some alone time with yourself. You need to enjoy the holiday to! It only last a short time in the year.
