1. Keeping a Study Schedule. Test time is stressful and it is important to keep a routine study schedule to assist with being able to remember information and organize your thoughts. Be active with studying the material, make note cards, and have a study partner if that helps.
2. Positive Attitude. Repeat your mantras and tell yourself “I Can DO IT” “ I Will Do My Best”. Think of your happy place to assist with fighting off the negative thoughts. Take some deep breathes, you got this!
3. Self-Care. Getting enough sleep and eating regularly will help fuel your brain and body. It is important to take care of yourself to be able to think and thrive throughout the day. Try to get at least 8-9 hours of sleep and a healthy meal before your test. I know that 8-9 hours of sleep seems like a lot because you have so many things to do, but it is important to get enough rest each night. Especially before a test.
4. Be Prepared. Make sure you have everything you need for the test. Ex: Calculator and Pencils. You want to be able to just be focused on the test and not worried that you forgot something. Pack everything up the night before or have it ready at school the day before.
